There is a Jewish custom to study a book of the Mishna, called Pirkey Avot or Wisdom of the Ancestors, each year between Passover and Shavuot. This section of the Mishna contains pithy sayings from the early Rabbis, including the signature verse from Rabbi Hillel “If I am not for myself, who am I? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?” We will dive into a discussion of selected sayings, drawing forth meaning for our time. All are welcome for a warm and lively shared learning experience over three sessions.
The other sessions will be on April 20 and May 18 on Zoom at the same time.
Members will automatically receive the Zoom information before the program.
All guests are welcome, and must register to receive the Zoom information. There is no charge for this program, and guest donations are encouraged at leyvhair.org.
