Please join us for this year's One Book, One Congregation discussion, to be led by Rabbi Julie.  This summer we will be reading God Is Here: Reimagining the Divine, a fascinating new book by Reconstructing Judaism Rabbi Toba Spitzer, whom Rabbi Julie Greenberg describes as "brilliant."

A long time friend and colleague of Rabbi Julie, Rabbi Spitzer has been called "the successor to Dr. Mordechai Kaplan" -- the founder of Reconstructing Judaism -- because of the breadth and depth of her thinking.

We hope you will join us in reading this book over the summer.  The book can be purchased online (including audio and e-versions) and at bookstores near you. Please consider supporting Philadelphia's independent bookstores such as Harriet's Bookshop (online link HERE)  or A Novel Idea (online link HERE).

We will meet on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM on Zoom for a community discussion.

Feel free to invite friends and family to read the book and to join us.

Let's look forward to continuing learning together.

Information for this and all virtual events will automatically be sent to LHI members.  Guests are welcome to participate, and can register here, email us at info@leyvhair.org, or call us at 215-629-1995  to request the remote access information.

Do you love to read?  Are you interested in books of Jewish interest? Be a part of Leyv Ha-Ir's Book Group!  Our lively, interesting and insightful monthly Book Group discussions are led by LHI member Stacey Rose-Blass.

Our Book Group meets on the fourth Monday of every month, via Zoom, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.  For ease of book acquisition and in order to allow sufficient time to enjoy each book, we will follow the recommendations from the Jewish Book Council, with modified timing.  (The JBC, founded in 1944, is the longest-running organization devoted exclusively to the support and celebration of Jewish literature.  For over seventy years, it has used literature to bring people together for meaningful discussions around Jewish life, identity, and culture.)

This month, the Book Group is discussing: Footprints on the Heart by Jean Naggar

You do not have to have attended prior meetings to participate.  Zoom Information for this and all online events will automatically be sent to LHI members.

Please share this information with your non-LHI member "bookish friends", even if they've missed our prior meetings.  If non-members would like to participate, they can register here, email us at info@leyvhair.org, or call us at 215-629-1995, for the remote access information.
