Join us to usher in the the Jewish New Year with
reflection, community and the call of the shofar.
Congregation Leyv Ha-Ir ~ Heart of the City invites everyone in our congregation and our larger community to join us for High Holy Days services. Services will be led by Rabbi Julie Greenberg with Cantorial Soloist Avra Shapiro. We will be in person at the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia at 2125 Chestnut St., AND on Zoom. First Unitarian is a beautiful, spacious place that is fully handicap accessible. Face masks will be optional.
Pre-registration is RECOMMENDED here. While we like to welcome everyone, for security reasons we need your registration at least one day in advance. If not pre-registered, you will be asked to show photo ID upon arrival.
As is our custom, we do not sell tickets nor charge a fee to attend our services. However, we strongly encourage donations from our guests to support these services as well as all of our programming throughout the year. These guidelines are provided as suggested amounts:
1 person: $200
2 or more people: $150 per adult
Please click here to make a contribution, or you can do it as part of your registration. You can pay by credit card or check mailed to Leyv Ha-Ir, P.O. Box 15836, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
We welcome everyone regardless of their ability to contribute financially.

There are 2 parking options available:
- We have received permission for on-street parking on Chestnut Street from 21st to 22nd Streets, and on 22nd Street between Market and Chestnut Streets.
- There are many parking lots and garages in the area. It seems as though Patriot Parking at 2101 Sansom St. has the best rates.
